Settlers Dice Program

This simple app can replace the physical dice for Settlers of Catan, and the Cities and Knights expansion pack.

What does this do that regular dice don't? First off, it adds a timer to limit the length of a player's turn. It also tracks and graphs the frequency of each number, color and the total rolled, and much more.

Launch the Dice Program

Features:

• Rolls white, red and colored dice on click or "enter".
• Tracks the current player's turn. You can enter up to 6 players. You can click to change who's turn it is.
• Tracks and graphs each number, color and the total rolled
• Unlimited undo's back to the start of the game.
• Timer option. 1 to 8 minute turn limits, or no timer at all. Sound notification. Pausable.
• Plays sounds to track the coming and arrival of the barbarian ship.
• Reset button to start a new game.

Why a Timer?

We've found that the games can be kept to a reasonable length of time if turns have time limits, particularly later in the game. Once time runs out we don't allow the player whose turn it is to trade with other players or use development cards. You can determine your own rules surrounding this and the length of time per turn.

How To Use It

Simply keep a laptop or other computer open to the dice program while playing the board game. Hit enter to roll the dice.

Set the browser window to the size you'd like it to appear, or hit F11 to use it full screen.
